WHOLESALER
Оптовое предприятие
Компания, которая закупает продукцию непосредственно у производителя в относительно больших количествах, складирует ее и затем перепродает предприятиям розничной торговли более мелкими партиями. Таким образом, оптовые компании выступают в роли посредников между производителями и розничными торговыми компаниями, избавляя производителей от необходимости самим складировать и сбывать свою продукцию, а розничных торговцев - от необходимости содержать свои собственные складские помещения. Оптовые предприятия обычно продают товар с надбавкой к цене производителя или берут комиссионный сбор. Оптовики нередко предоставляют своим розничным потребителям возможность закупок в кредит и услуги по доставке. В последнее время получили широкое распространение магазины-склады (см. Cash and carry), которые продают товар мелким оптом и в розницу на условиях самостоятельного вывоза. Кроме этого, с появлением крупных фирменных предприятий розничной торговли (см. Chain store) присущая оптовой торговле функция накопления запасов и их распределения соединилась с функцией розничных продаж (см. Internalization). Предприятия розничной торговли в свою очередь стали осуществлять оптовые закупки непосредственно у производителя, получая выгоду от ценовых скидок.
